APPS vs. ACCS

Thinking that there should be a name to call an accessory to a smartphone ( think AliveCore, Remotoscope, Cellscope, etc) instead of calling them APPS.
An APP is to application, what ACCS is to accessories.
Just like there is iMedicalapps, there could be iMedicalAccs.

Remote monitoring "Robot"

A much needed tool! The way to shorten the gap between high demand for care and short supply of specialists. NO sub …
Imagine remote, rural hospitals having these remote patient care tools at their sites, not needing specialists to physically be there...or decreasing their rate of referral of patients across distances just for evaluation!

1-in-20 U.S. Physicians Now On Doctors-Only Social Network

1-in-20 U.S. Physicians Now On Doctors-Only Social Network
It's a great idea. HIPAA compliance is what LinkedIn was lacking and this seems to address the issue. As I mentioned at the TEDx talk "iPod Teletrauma" @ TEDxDirigo.com in September 2011, HIPAA compliance regulation is one of the main hurdles to face for the successful application of mobile video TELE-consultations ( using FaceTime, Skype, ClearSea, etc).
It would be great to integrate a video feature to Doximity and allow providers to video chat in regards to a patient and even show a patient (wound, lesion, etc.) on live stream. With the growing deficit of specialists, the increasing costs of Healthcare, the increase demand from patients, the developments of technologies and the ideas behind the application of them, portals like this might be one solution and likely the future of healthcare communications.
